Dragon Promotions Billiards Events #1 Search on Yahoo Korea: XTM Billiards Week a Media Success

Seoul, Korea- Carom billiards and pocket billiards became the hot topic on Korea search engines Yahoo, Google, Naver, and Daum during the XTM Billiards Week. The Dragon Promotions events sparked several billiard related topics including hot searches for Jeanette Lee, Yu Ram Cha, Semih Sayginer and Shanelle Loraine. Multiple media outlets in newspapers, magazines, and Internet sites focused on the Showdown in Seoul, Korea vs Europe, and Korea vs World Women's 3-Cushion events.

Combining World Champion Semih Sayginer with Pop Artist Celebrity Nancy Lang made for a hot media topic in Korea

South Korea is the world's number one and largest Internet user. Korea leads over USA, Japan, and China in Internet capabilities and access as well. In 2008, a record 34,820,000 people out of Korea's 49 million used the Internet on a daily basis. That's a staggering 70% of the population.

"Having great TV ratings is important, but actually the amount of media and press attention an event gets is equally as important for us. The two factors actually have a direct impact on each other. So being number one ranked on the Internet is really huge for us." explains Cindy Lee, CEO of Dragon Promotions.

Why is this significant?

"South Korea is the future. Korea has become the world's best laboratory for broadband services - and a place to look to for answers on how the Internet business may evolve....Korea's Cyworld, for example, is a social network owned by a subsidiary of SK Telecom, the country's largest wireless provider...it looks like a mixture of some of the hottest US properties: it's MySpace meets Flickr and Blogger and AIM and Second Life. Cyworld has penetration rates that would make Rupert Murdoch, CEO of MySpace parent News Corp. (Research), green with envy: An astonishing 90 percent of South Koreans in their 20s use the service. "- Tim O'Reilly , founder and CEO of O'Reilly Media, Inc., thought by many to be the best computer book publisher in the world. "I believe in what Dragon Promotions is doing with billiards. I can see the light at the end. Younger and younger people are getting more and more interested in billiards. I enjoy coming here and helping them create a new audience and generation of billiard fans." said Semih Sayginer.
